WHAT IS YOUR PREFERENCE RAW OR VIRGIN HAIR?

Alopecia Wigs · Cancer Wigs · Custom Wigs · Eye lashes · Frontals · Fullace Wigs · Hair bundles · Hair extensions · Hair lenghts · Lace Frontal Wigs · Lace wigs · Luxury hair · Machine made wigs · Wig cleaning service · Wig making services · Jul 14, 2020 WHAT IS YOUR PREFERENCE RAW OR VIRGIN HAIR? RAW HUMAN HAIR So, what is raw hair and where does it come from? Raw unprocessed human hair is sourced mainly from overseas. India, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, and South America are hotspots for raw hair.  Hair that comes from China is usually processed in some form. They apply chemicals, steam it, bleach it blonde, remove the cuticle and coat the cap with silicone to match various textures. On the other hand, raw hair is exactly as the name applies; Raw, unprocessed, 100% human hair. When you think about unprocessed this means it has not undergone ANY chemical, heat or steam processing. Raw hair is the most purest and natural form of hair available on the market. Raw hair is great; the quality is top notch and if taken care of, it can last from two to four years. Now lets get into the details of raw hair. Single donor hair is a bundle of hair that is cut only from one donor, that is what’s called single drawn hair. Double donor hair is cut twice from one donor (This type of hair is more expensive than a single donor). When the hair is collected from donors it is examined for evidence of lice then its washed, shampooed, conditioned, sorted then made into the wigs, frontals, closures, and bundles we all love!  The beauty of Raw hair is that no two bundles are the same in terms of color and texture. That’s because the hair is not steamed from uniformed patterns.  The other thing to keep in mind is that raw human hair will most likely be aligned, meaning the hair is organized in the same direction to keep hair from tangling. To test this out you can simply take a few strands of hair starting from the top and run your fingers down the length of hair. It should be very smooth, however if you do the same thing in the opposite direction you should feel some resistance or friction that is an indication of real quality hair that will last from two to four years (depending on how well the hair is cared for). Raw hair does require regular maintenance to maintain its sheen. As weird as it seems, raw hair needs a lot of moisturizing and conditioning. We highly recommend using quality products, salon grade hair care products  may cost more, but in the long run it will preserve the life span of your wigs or hair extensions. If that’s not an option for you then please use products that has no sulfates, paraneans, or alcohol as these ingredients tend to strip raw hair leaving it dull and brittle. There are specific products you should and should not use on raw hair.  MAIN  FEATURES  OF  RAW  HUMAN  HAIR Raw Indian: Raw Indian hair is extremely popular and favored by clientele and usually comes in lighter brown colors- which may be a pro if you need to blend it with lighter colored natural leave outs. See our collection of our raw Indian hair here. Raw Vietnamese: Raw Vietnamese is usually comes in a bomb straight texture. Super smooth and perfect for any sleek looks. The texture is also great for blending with natural hair. See more here. Raw Cambodian: Raw Cambodian hair is very full body, thick, wavy and mostly used for curlier styles. South American: Raw South American hair is very full body hair that comes in straight, wavy, and in rare cases curly. What makes South American hair great is that the colors, textures and lengths are well suited to most ethnicities. VIRGIN  HUMAN  HAIR Virgin hair is a term for hair that has never been chemically processed.  Chemically processed hair is hair that has been color treated, permed, relaxed, bleached or dyed.  Unlike raw hair, which only comes in three textures (and usually one to three origins), Virgin hair comes in a variety of origins and textures. Raw hair normally comes in 3 froms, straight, natural wave, and curly. You have more of a variety with Virgin hair, the textures and patterns range from Brazilian to  Mongolian, and comes in a variety of textures like kinky curly, body wave, deep curly, etc.  Steam processing or steaming allows for the creating of those hot exotic and unique styles including: body wave, deep wave, mink or silky straight, Italian curl or Spanish wave, kinky curl, tight curl, curly wave, loose wave, kinky straight, 4C Afro kinky, natural wave, Blonde 613. WHAT IS HAIR LOSS SUFFERING IN SILENCE In today’s world it is socially acceptable for men to be bald. In fact, being bald is connected to positive attributes ranging from intelligence to virility. However, in most cultures; a full head of luscious hair still is the epitome of feminine beauty and even of female gender identity. When a woman loses her hair, she may feel like she is losing her identity. This can be a traumatic experience with devastating impact on a person’s self-confidence. On top of that, often there is little social and public support for hair loss. If you are not dealing with a life-threatening disease,  people’s complaints about losing their hair is often overlooked and downplayed. “There’s worse than that”, “You’ll live with it”, “Girl shave it off rock that bald head”, or “It’s no big deal”, these words can be demoralizing to women struggling with hair loss. It is no surprise that 47% of hair loss sufferers would spend their life savings to regain a full head of hair and 60% would rather have their hair than money or friends. Even more unfortunately, the medical community also treats the issue of women’s hair loss as if it was nonexistent. Since hair loss does not appear to be a life threatening event, most physicians pay little attention to women’s complaints about hair loss and essentially tell their patients the same hurtful words, “you’ll just have to live with it”. When I volunteered with the American Cancer Society, they only offered synthetic wigs to the patients. The general consensus was that the patients should be glad to have this free wig that is offered to them. Their hair will grow back eventually, right? In my time of volunteering I can truly say all these women wanted was a real natural looking wig. Causes of Hair Loss From crowning glory to terrifying nightmares, here are some reasons why a woman can lose her hair: Hereditary hair loss, which means it can be inherited from a parent. Hair cosmetics with harsh chemicals. Illnesses and medications, like Alopecia, cancer and chemotherapy. Self-infliction, hair pulling also known as trichoitmilla and (traction alopecia) where constant pressure is causing the hair to fall out (wearing certain hairstyles, such as tight braids or tight ponytails). Hormone-related disorders, such as Thyroid disease or high stress levels. Autoimmune diseases. During pregnancy and during menopause women can lose their hair. Poor nutrition and rapid weight loss can also contribute to hair loss. In addition, allergies are a risining cause for concern, they can also result in hair loss. Diagnosis of Hair Loss When these concerns persist, a woman who suffers from hair loss generally will consult a dermatologist for a proper treatment plan. In most cases some hair loss can be reversed if discovered in time. However, generally speaking, no doctor is needed to validate the first signs of hair loss, which often can push a woman into a state of high alert, if not panic. The signs are first experienced in the privacy of the bedroom or bathroom; she wakes up in the morning to find hair on the pillow. Then she notices excessive hair loss when washing and brushing her hair. Her once full ponytail suddenly looks thinner or her part is widening. Ways to combat Hair Loss First thing is to figure out what is causing your hair loss. Typically during high-stress periods of life, we’re suffering from a vitamin deficiency as well. Make sure that you take your needed vitamins, eat a well balanced diet, rest and remove yourself from any situation or people who bring negativity to your life, visit your doctor, and do your best to be as healthy as possible. During this period of hair loss, avoid heavy hair products as they can weigh your hair down, and cause it to be thinner. Be gentle when caring for your hair during this time to avoid losing more hair, and most importantly, be patient! We all suffer from stress, but as long as we take care of ourselves as we go through the motions, we can manage it and experience happy times. Ways To Increase Hair Growth Even if you’re going through a stressful time in life, there are ways to curb that and still promote hair growth in your life. Always remember that hair growth takes time, and the remaining patient during your journey is essential. With that being said, here are some ways to increase hair growth. Shampoo: Use a shampoo that has natural ingredients and is sulfate, alcohol and  paraben free. Take the time to read the labels. Conditioner: Every-time that you wash your hair use a conditioner. Conditioners assist in replacing lipids and proteins within your hair and prevent more damage from occurring. Don’t Over Shampoo: Don’t shampoo every time you shower. Washing your hair with shampoo too often can cause your scalp to lose its natural oils, and strip your hair of its moisture. More tips! Take Hair Vitamins: If you haven’t tried using hair supplements, you might want to try incorporating some into your diet. Eating healthy will increase the benefits of the supplements as well! Also, just to make sure you’re not interfering with any medications you may already be taking, make sure you check in with your doctor first. Trim: One of the primary methods of growing healthy hair is to trim it often. I remember being a child obsessed with how long my hair could grow

We have countless hashtags and forums dedicated to black women and all their beauty. With that said, l have a pretty good idea what you may be thinking? Blonde hair is only for a particular group of people! Not true my friend, blonde hair is not exclusive to any one group. I am a licensed hairstylist and wig maker, l have worked at many salons where hair bleaching is the number one requested service. So, contrary to popular belief no one group has exclusivity on blonde hair. But for most the blonde look is achieved by chemically bleaching the hair over a series of six to ten salon visits. If a hairstylist tells you can go from your natural hair color of black / dark brown in just a few visits you’d better run! That process takes time and care to really get somewhere.  The real truth is just 2% of the world population are actually born with blonde hair and keep it throughout their entire life. One of the rare groups of natural blondes (that are melanated) are the Melanesian people who live in the Solomon  Islands. A geneticist from the Nova Scotia agricultural college in Canada, Sean Myles, conduced a case study on these people. He took saliva and hair samples from 1209 Melanesian Solomon Island residents and compared and contrasted them. From comparing the blond haired and brown haired Islanders, he found that the blondes carried two copies of a latent mutant gene which is present in 26% of the island’s population. This native TYRP1  gene is partly responsibile for the Melanesian people’s unique blend of blond hair and melanated skin.  After hearing many stigmas surrounded by how ill-fitting blonde hair can look on women of color, we are finally at a place where we no longer agree with the naysayers. The science and fasion of blond hair on melanated skin is undeniable. We look good in it! Watching celebrities like Beyoncé, Halle, Mary J, Nicki M., Zoe Kravitz, Ciara, and much more rock this signature golden look is giving many of us the courage to go a couple of shades lighter. So, now that i’ve convinced you to go blonde, what’s your next step? Well just like any wig or hair extensions you purchase you want to make sure that any blonde look is both realistic and flawless on you. As far as blonde wigs, there are a few tips that will help make rocking this color a walk in the park. So, check out these simple tips to wearing blonde hair for any black women. Shop around for the right blonde color. Consider the under tones of your skin, for example, my skin tone has a golden under tone so l can wear blonde colors warm or neutral under tone. But a yellow blonde doesn’t mesh well with me, it causes my skin to look greenish-gray color. If you can, avoid bleaching your own natural hair as it tends to dry out the hair and cause breakage if not properly cared for. Don’t adjust your eyebrows hair to match the blond color! If you are serious about lightening the brow, please consult a licensed stylist or eye brow specialist about that. All the best, Ada Leroux Hair

Shop all the popular ready-to-ship wigs, closures, frontals, bundles deals, and lace fronts! Cranial hair prosthesis So, what is a cranial hair prosthesis? Well, let’s start with what it is not. It is not a traditional fashion wig worn by most but rather a specially designed head covering made for people who have lost their hair. A cranial hair prosthesis is a specially designed head covering that restores hair on the head and gives the wearer a natural-looking head of hair. The cranial prosthesis also aids in the regulation of body temperature and protects the scalp against outdoor elements. A cranial prosthesis offers patients who’ve lost their hair a high-quality, comfortable prosthesis to replace hair that is lost. In most cases, health insurance companies usually cover the cost, but they require a medical prescription from your medical provider first. THE TYPES OF CRANIAL HAIR PROSTHESIS WE OFFER Since we believe that each person is unique, we don’t have a one size fits all approach to help you to regain hair. We offer different types of cranial hair prosthesis (medical wigs). We have what are called full lace wigs, meaning that each strand(s) of hair are individually hand knotted onto this base of soft lace bases, called French, Swiss, and Opera. These laces’ skin ranges in colors from transparent to light brown, medium, and dark brown and are lightweight and breathable. The second type of cranial hair prosthesis is called lace front wigs, meaning they have individually hand-knotted hair to the front of the lace base with wefting tracks in the back. They are called frontals, but our frontals give our clients more styling versatility and measure approximately 13 in. X 4 in. 4×4, 5×5, and 6×6 closures, Each cap will vary in style, size, and design.  Third is what is called a hair integration system; the system allowing the wears to include some of their bio hair is an excellent option for people looking for freedom in hair styling. These types of hair systems are crafted to match clients’ hair color and texture. Cranial hair prosthesis or integrations systems are for people experiencing hair loss in the crown area or total hair loss that does not conceal the entire scalp; it is usually integrated with clients’ remaining hair on the sides and back. Ada Leroux Hair is your one-stop online resource that offers cranial hair prostheses (medical wigs), hair extensions, wigs, lashes, matte and lip gloss edge control, and more! Shop all the popular ready-to-ship wigs, closures, frontals, bundles deals, and lace fronts! Ada Leroux Hair, LLC is state licensed and certified in medical hair loss. The services provided are for medical-related non-surgical hair restoration. Our focus is on patients dealing with hair loss caused by medical illness or treatment. With patient collaboration, a specially designed cranial prosthesis is custom-made and fitted to look like the patient’s natural hair. In some cases, we can do an initial live virtual Zoom consultation or travel to patients’ locations to start the process of recreating their lost hair. Once the patient has received the cranial prosthesis, we also provide a care kit that includes a complimentary care kit with follow-up within one or two weeks to see how things are going. Why Women Love Hair Extensions

360 Lace Wigs · Alopecia Wigs · Brazilian hair · Cancer Wigs · Custom Wigs · Eye lashes · Frontals · Gray hair · Hair extensions · Hair textures · hairextensions · Luxury hair · Mobilestylist · Pre-Plucked Wigs · Dec 03, 2019 Why Women Love Hair Extensions                     5 Tips You Will Agree With! No matter what your background is, good hair extensions will be one of the best investments you make. There are plenty of women that love hair extensions, and there are plenty of reasons why.  When I would protect my natural hair using extensions, I noticed that my hair grew much faster, was healthier and overall better than before. There are many advantages to buying and using extensions. It’s okay to be on the fence about buying hair extensions, especially since there’s so much information out there about how they have the potential to damage your hair. However, despite that information, there are plenty of ways that you can protect your hair and enjoy the luxurious look that hair extensions provide. It’s all about how you install the extensions, take care of them, and take them out after wearing them. If you’re contemplating making the change over to extensions, let me give you five reasons to consider trying them out.  1. Protect Your Natural Hair Sometimes, it’s important to give your natural hair a break. Women love hair extensions because they help them protect and grow their hair. Natural hair isn’t always equipped to endure everyday wear and tear. Extensions help with that! Most women also feel that extensions help them grow their hair quicker. Your hair is more likely to grow when you take care of it underneath. Make sure your hair is always clean, moisturized and healthy. You won’t regret it! 2. Try a New Style Before Committing Women love hair extensions because extensions allow us to try out a hairstyle before fully committing to it. Whenever I want to try out new hairstyles such as a curly hairstyle, I use extensions. The great thing is that there are all kinds of hair extensions available, so you don’t need to worry about only rocking one type of style.  3. Get Thicker or Longer Hair Extensions instantly provide longer and thicker hair for those looking to enhance their look without heavily manipulating their hair. Whenever I need to get a full look in a short amount of time, I put some extensions in. If I need something quick, I use clip-ins or wigs! 4. Manage Hair Conditions Hair conditions can affect the way we wear and view our hair. One of my closest friends has a condition that affects her ability to grow her hair out evenly. At first, she was insecure about it, but after experimenting with a few wigs, and different hair extensions, she is far more confident. 5. Heat Damage A lot of women want to wear bone straight hair without damaging their hair. You can easily avoid heat damage by utilizing hair extensions. If you wear wigs, closures or any extension style that covers all of your hair, you’ll never have to use a straightener or heat product on your real hair! Whenever I want to give my hair a break from the heat, I wear hair extensions. You’ll Love Hair Extensions Too Hair extensions have many benefits, the five listed benefits are just the beginning of the list. When people wear extensions properly, take care of them and take them down gently, there’s little potential for the extensions to damage your hair. Of course, it’s important to research which extension type suits you best, and see which style you love most before making a decision. Overall, you won’t know why different women love hair extensions so much until you try them out yourself!

H D Lace & Transparent Lace Wigs

I know many of you have you have seen the new craze over transparent lace and HD lace. Today’s blog will help you to help you better understand the differences between the two and whether they’re a fit for you. HD stands for “high definition”. HD lace uses a lace material that used to be called Swiss lace, which is invisible when applied to the scalp. This ensures that the wig-wearer can wear hairstyles that expose the full hairline. These HD lace wigs look very natural and render the lace along the hairline undetectable.  HD Lace is the thinnest lace there is, it disappears into the scalp like no other. You can finally wear the same lace wigs that your favorite celebrities has but without the extremely high cost. What Is Transparent Lace?  This lace is made typically from French or Swiss lace (Swiss lace is more commonly used for transparent lace extensions). Transparent lace is very thin lace, blends easily with most skin tones and is ventilated with real human hair. The best part about it is that this lace makes the hand-tied knots less visible. What’s The Difference Between Normal lace and HD Lace? The key to wearing a wig is to make it look as natural as possible. Nobody likes the “grid” look, it’s not acceptable anymore.  The HD lace (Swiss lace) is more see-through than normal lace, which can better blend into the scalp, and make the hairline look more natural and less visible.  We often recommend the transparent lace to women with lighter skin tones, but recently we found that the transparent color lace can melt into any skin tone after we bleach the hair knots. But according to the features of the lace material itself, HD lace (Swiss lace) is still thinner, more delicate, and transparent than the normal transparent lace. The Pros & Cons of Each Wig Lace

FRONTALS OR CLOSURE ?

QUICK LOOK AT BOTH Frontals and closures have different advantages and setbacks, the choice you make between them depends on what you are trying to achieve with your wigs or hair extensions. In short, frontals and closures are what we call mini hairpieces, they are used to finish off your sew ins or added to top wigs for more volume. Naturally the goal is to give you a flawless but natural look, like the hair is growing out of your scalp. Let’s start with frontals. FRONTALS We at Ada Leroux Hair really love frontals, they are so versatile allowing for styling flexibility. Of the two mini hairpieces mentioned above, a frontal usually measures 13 inches in length from ear to ear and go 4 to 6 inches deep. This length is great because it allows for deeper partings and front updo’s. Secondly, they are a great solution for women and girls experiencing traction Alopecia or other medical hair loss issues because they also require less bundles. Frontals are made with a lightweight materials: the hair is hand tied knotted to the lace so that when its laid next to skin looks like hair growing out of scalp. Customization is often required and should be done by an experienced hair stylist. Due to delicate materials used a word of caution is needed, as great as frontals are we do not recommend them for daily everyday wear. Frontals give you so many options for styling. You can do a center part or deep-side part, but you can also pull your hair back into a half-ponytail or full ponytail. This is a great option for those who like to mix up their looks and change the way they part their hair. With this hairpiece, you’re not limited to the number of ways you can part or style your hair. Do keep in mind, because frontals are so versatile and include more material, they do tend to be pricier than closures. CLOSURES A closure is similar to a frontal, but it has more limitations when it comes to styling. Instead of having a strip of scalp-like material that runs from ear to ear, the closure typically comes in a horseshoe shape in the following sizes: 4×4, 5×5, 6×6, and even 7×7- inch. Closures are hand tied and knotted with human hair giving the illusion of hair growing from scalp. The closure can be placed on the middle, right or left side of the sew in or wig.  Unlike the frontal, which allows you to part your hair in an infinite number of ways, the closure only allows for a few different parting styles. If that is a big concern for you, then opt in to the largest sizes closures 5×5, 6×6, or 7×7-inch. Closures are an excellent choice for daily wear and tends to be a bit easier to manage. If you are thinking about trying bangs then closures are great way to test that look out.  Keep in mind it’s not really possible to create up-dos or half ponytails with closures, but they are great for every day styles that is why they cost a bit less than frontals. Quality and grade of hair also may factor into the cost. Extend the life of your wigs and hair extensions buy wearing our newest products, our satin bonnets are a great choice for maintaining hair quality. All the best, Ada Leroux Hair Hey do you wear our products? We would love to see your selfies!
